Workplace Resource Hosts Modern in Denver's Annual Design Event
On May 28, Workplace Resource's LoDo showroom became something a little different. Modern in Denver brought their annual Design in Bloom event to our space, and what followed was one of the most energetic, creative evenings we have been part of in a long time.
For over a decade, Design in Bloom has gathered Colorado's architecture and design community for a one-night celebration of craft, creativity, and connection. This year, we were proud to open our doors and watch it unfold.

15 Denver Architecture and Design Firms Transform the WR Showroom with Floral Installations
The evening centered on something we love. Fifteen of Denver's most talented architecture and design firms each created an original floral installation inside the showroom, translating their design sensibilities into living, blooming works. To simply name a few:
- Piche Architecture built towering columns from seed paper and organic materials, exploring the dialogue between structure and impermanence.
- Meridian 105 brought dried grasses and bent wood strips together in a piece inspired by the city's street-level texture.
- Civitas framed lush botanicals inside a monitor, asking what nature means in an increasingly digital world.
Every installation said something different, and together they made the space feel genuinely alive.
An Evening of Food, Music, and Community in the Heart of Denver
The installations were only part of the story. A DJ kept the energy up all night, drinks and food made their rounds, and the room just had that feeling.
Great people, great work on the walls, and nobody in a rush to leave. A perfect evening in the heart of downtown.
And the Winner is... BARI Architecture & Make West
At the end of the evening, a winner was announced. The top honor went to a collaboration between BARI Architecture and Make West, a fitting result for an event that celebrates what Denver's design community can create when talented firms work together.
Watching the room celebrate that moment, inside a space built around exactly that kind of connection, was a reminder of why evenings like this matter.
Why WR Opens Its Doors to the Denver Design Community
Design in Bloom is Modern in Denver's event, and they put together something exceptional. We are grateful to have been the setting for it.
Hosting evenings like this is part of how we think about what a showroom can be, not just a place to see furniture, but a space where the Denver design community can gather, create, and connect.
